Sa’yo Pa Rin, Kahit Ano Mang Mangyari

Hi, I just want to share my “Sa’yo Pa Rin” love story.

Our love story started way back at the very beginning of the year, in January, long before the COVID-19 era began. We’ve known each other since 2012 because she was my colleague at work. Back then, we would talk about our private lives, and she was very easy to be with at work.

Fast forward to 2016, we parted ways. She found another job and later became an OFW, while I stayed at the same workplace. Once in a while, we would chat and catch up about life. Then I found out that she was single and said she would come home to the Philippines in the 4th quarter of 2019 or the 1st quarter of 2020.

To cut the story short, we started our relationship in January 2020. Then COVID-19 came. Her flight got canceled, and I said, “Ano ba ’yan?! Kung kailan magkakasama na kami, nangyari pa ’to!”

Nations closed their borders, businesses shut down, and quarantine and health protocols were implemented everywhere.

Then came September 2020 — the biggest nightmare of my life. I got into an accident while driving my motorcycle. I was a little conscious and fell asleep because of the impact… rescuers, ambulance, nurses, doctors — and I ended up in the ER.

While lying in the hospital bed, I knew I would survive… but what about after this incident?

I even thought about ending our relationship, but half of me was struggling to let go. I had wished and prayed for this woman and for the happy relationship we had. Pero sa isang pangyayari, baka mawala ang lahat — the plans we prepared for might not happen anymore.

But she chose not to let go and continued fighting for us. While I was struggling to recover, she always checked on me day in and day out — video calls, sweet messages, always motivating me.

Fast forward to February 2022, at last, she finally came home to me.

We planned to start the small family we had always wished and prayed for, and God blessed us with a beautiful and loving daughter.

Totoong “Sa’yo pa rin.” Ano man ang mangyari — unos, sakuna, magkatampuhan man o may hindi pagkakaunawaan — kapag mahal mo, kayo pa rin, at sa’yo pa rin.

And this 2026, we wish to expand our small family and have our church wedding.
